While at Alpha, I carried caseloads in federal probation, BOP and state programming regarding re-integration strategies for change. I have been a licensed chemical dependency counselor for 10 years. Before becoming licensed I received most of my intern training in the Dallas/Fort worth area in multiple modalities from inpatient care, outpatient care, Detox hospitalization and residential care. I also worked in a prison for 2 1/2 years in a DWI program setting. I have also ran my own practice for four years working with juveniles on probation. I have had cases involving child protective services doing in home substance abuse care. I volunteered my time at a jail for offenders that were facing drug/alcohol charges to get them information to start their journey with educational value. I have enjoyed helping people in many facets of care, and have especially enjoyed my time here at Alpha. I am a graduate of PCI institute in Dallas, Texas in 2014, continued education at Howard college. I originate from the West Texas area and have family and friends in this area. Buffy Jo Berry
Buffy Jo BerryLCDC
Buffy Jo Berry. My passion for a healing program of recovery came to me at a very early age. My father is an ordained minister and being raised in the field of spirituality ,the insight into the complications of a hurting soul became very prevalent to me.

My desire to assist and to move into the healing process began as early as my preteen years. I went to a private school and had others recognize my passion and help me reaching out other youth who were struggling. I did not go to college to get a degree in helping others until I was in my early 30s. As involvement in church always gave me an open door to assisting others, my hunger to help those in the streets , those in the jail houses, those who loved those in the street and in the jail houses became a leading factor for my life. This biggest common denominator I could find in these hurting individuals was the disease of addiction. I worked and home schooled five children while I put myself through college to ensure that one day I could be where I am today. I truly enjoy working with criminally addicted clients. The rewards of watching them overcome their personal barriers and grow to the point that now only are they living a happy , healthy, pro social lifestyle they are assisting others who thought that change was hopeless. Their own living example that change is a very real option spreads so much hope and prompts even more positive change. Alpha Recovery Centre touches so many peoples lives. Not just the clients we serve but every one who loves each of them . It is such a blessing to be a small part of this huge life changing program. Safe, subjective, assistance in a world where addiction can have stigma name associated with it. Again , my name is Buffy and I am a Chemical Dependency Counselor honored to be a part of the change that comes from offering help and hope to those others may deem hopeless.
